My Ipsy August Glam Bag

Hey dolls today I'm sharing the insides of my Ipsy bag! So if you've been living under a rock Ipsy is a beauty subscribe brings you 5 deluxe sample and full sized beauty products delivered to your door each month for $10. For me $10 isn't much considering most things in the bag will cost you more than $10, like I believe a couple months ago they had a Too Faced Melted and one of those will run you about $21 a pop. So without anymore delay I give you my Beauty Schooled themed Glam Bag.
I get excited when I see this bight shiny pink mailer... my mail man just thinks I'm crazy but if he only  knew the goodness inside.

So with the school theme I got a white and orange polka dot bag, that reminds me of a pencil carrying case and along with that I got:
  • A full size Absolute Lip Balm in Grape
  • A Deluxe size Dr. Brandt Pores No More Refiner
  • A Coastal Scents Forever Sample Duo
  • An Urban Decay Perversion Sample Mascara
  • A Sample Lord & Berry Silk Kajal Kohl Eye Pencil
Absolute Lip Balm in Grape.
Absolute New York's You're the Balm Lip Balm for me is okay, true to form it smells like grape. To my surprise is that there are sparkles in it.
Formula was a bit of a disappointment,, it's kinda creamy when you put it on and the more you move your mouth it feels a bit oily so you would think it would at least help your lips, instead after a while my lips ended up dry and dear I say ashy feeling.
I feel that this is more of a lip balm meant for a grade school child.

Dr. Brandt's Pores No More Refiner.
This for me is a little magic in a tube.
Key Benefits:
    - Minimizes the appearance of pores by diffusing light
    - Blurs imperfections & lines
    - Erases shine & mattifies skin
    - Absorbs oil, reduces shine and helps regulate sebum production
    - Antibacterial action for a healthy skin
    - Acts as a shield to prevent make-up from clogging pores

It goes on like a cream but doesn't leave any evidence it was there. I wore it though the day and I must say I found I wasn't blotting my face half as much as I normally do so it did help with my oily nose. I will be buying a full size.

Urban Decay's Perversion
I had so much hope for this mascara but I'm sad to say it didn't do it for me like My Too Faced's BTS. It is a light mascara and it adds a bit of depth to lashes but a cheaper drug store mascara can do it for you also.

Coastal Scent's Forever Sample Duo.
When they say sample they weren't kidding, but more about the product itself it's very pigmented and soft.
I'm going to try my hand and buy the full size blushes because I really like the peach color and I saw some deeper pinks I want to try and for $3.95 I can't be mad.

Lord & Berry's Silk Kajal Kohl Eyeliner
This is a very creamy eyeliner and very smudge-able. I actually enjoyed this eyeliner because I tend to have wonky eyes and this didn't bother it. The $18 price tag scares me a little but if you subscribe to their news letter you get 25% off your first order so that's good.
I might also grab their unsmudge-able one too. I'm glad I got this in my bag.

All in all the bag was just good, it scored a 3/5, I really enjoyed the No Pore refiner, the blush, and the eyeliner and to be honest I'm okay with the mascara.

So what are your  thoughts on this bag? Are you an Ipsy subscriber? If not you can use my referral link to join, I do get points if you join using that link. When and if you sign up if you don't want to be on the waiting list( some people have been on that thing for months) just follow the instructions to get off, all it is, is tweeting a tweet, sharing on facebook and I was off the list as soon as I signed up.

Are there any subscription bags/boxes you can't live without? Let me know.

  3. My tipsy bag was very similar to yours! I received a green apple lip balm and I agree with you - it reminds of something a grade school kid would enjoy.
