Where have you been my whole life???

This little bottle is filled with complete amazingness. This hand made polish is from Pahlish on esty. This is one of the things that boggles me. Why hasn't she blown up!!?? Her polishes are amazing I can't find one flaw in her formula only that I only have one bottle. But when she re-opens up that will be fixed. I found her when I was browsing through esty trying to fix my pain of not being able to get my hands on any Nail- Venturous nail polishes. I wasn't sure about her polishes because I never tried her polishes or heard much about them, I guess I was swept away by all the hype of the other indie polishes out there *shrugs* but I want to shout to the roof tops how awesome this polish is and how it puts some of the other indie brands to shame. So I ordered Toxic and Timeless she describes it simply as  a seaweed green jelly base with small iridescent glitter, large blue/lime/chartreuse hex, blue/chartreuse bars.... I describe it as simply brilliant and that's the truth.

I know there are other polishes that are like this you know the green blue some sparkles and base but this formula is perfect. It wasn't too thick, it only took 2 coats and it's a jelly that's awesome, you didn't HAVE to use a top coat(even though I tried it with a glossy coat and a matte top) and dry time didn't take forever and a day and I had no problems with the glitter I dipped the brush and started painted and this is what I got... pure awesomness on each nail!

I love this polish so much I couldn't just pick a hand full of pictures lol and since everyone is matting glitters I thought I'd try it out and I like how it turned out. Pahlish has a facebook page too. She's suppose to re-open shop Friday around 7pm so since she's in AZ I'm thinking pacific time so 10pm EST... ugh yay lol I'm happy she's coming back but these times are killing me lol. So try out her polish they are A-M-A-Z-ING. I am dieing to get my hands on Sitting in a Tin Can, Endless Static Sea and the newest Typewritter Keys!!!

SPLAT's Taking Over - Glix Glitrix Royal Flush

Hello! This is Miranda (AKA arfblat) from SPLAT and in this guest post I want to show you guys my first indie polish because I know Jessica loves indie franken concoctions! I ordered this particular polish, called Royal Flush, from Glix Glitrix’s etsy site. Glix Glitrix is an indie brand from Singapore that packages nail polishes in the cutest star-shaped bottles! The second I saw these adorable little bottles I knew I had to have one, and at $6 per bottle with free shipping, I could actually afford it!

Royal Flush is a deep purple polish with medium gold hexes and small gold and blue dots but in the right lighting the glitters flash all sorts of different colors! I love the combination of the vampy-ish color with the sparkly bling, I couldn’t stop staring - at my nails and at the bottle!

The formula was great, mostly opaque in one coat but perfect in two. I was afraid I might have to fish for the larger glitters but I didn’t! My only complaint might be the quality of the brush - the end was a little too round for my taste and not completely even which made application a tad bit difficult. But even so, it was worth it! So, without further ado, here are the results!

In the sun; sorry about the shadow on the pinky!

In the shade.

Full hand.

Thumb.

For fun I decided to use Essie Matte About You on top and loved the results. If you know me, you may know that I love the way glitter looks mattified! It really brought out the colors of the glitter, especially the small blue glitter that was in there.

Sorry about the tip wear, this was after I'd been wearing it for a couple of days!

Check out that tiny blue glitter!

And finally, here’s some bottle shot porn just because this is one of the prettiest bottles I’ve ever seen!

Hope you enjoyed this as much as I did! Check out Glix Glitrix's etsy shop for other awesome franken polishes! I think I'll definitely be buying more in the future! And thanks, Jessica, for letting me guest post, this was lots of fun!

When everything just comes together

Hey loves today I was trying to put together a puzzle and I was really excited until I realize that the box had 3 different 10,000 piece puzzles in the same box mixed together, I nixed that one real fast and decided to try the puzzle nails I've been seeing around only I wanted to use neon colors because I'm in love with neon colors right now... that and ice cream.

So while doing this I noticed a couple of things my neon green need a couple applications, I could still see my tape line opps I need to use a more opaque color next time so I wont have to keep going over and over it again, and the fast dry top coat kinda sucked but other than that I really like this puzzle design alot easier to do than a mixed together puzzle lol. So what I did was use Misa Hot people like you as my base and taped it and used American Apparel neon green over it at an angle. After that I used my dotter to make it look like puzzle pieces and the more I look at it, it also looks like paint or slime... I've been watching too many commercials for the Kids Choice Awards lol. So this is a work in progress but how do you feel about the neon colors?

What Happened to 3/24 Post? Opps

Talk about being scattered brained this is for 3/24/2012 I saved this post but didn't publish it I don't know what happened so here's the post it lives... lol...

Hey everyone I got some nail mail from Dollish Polish I like her polishes but some of them are hit and misses for me like this weeks I got Urban Camo and Super Bass. Urban Camo was a win for me and Super Bass was a eeuughh *shrugs* it didn't do anything for me. So starting off Urban Camo it's clear base polish with neon green, black, white and silver glitters. I layered it over American Apparel's Hunter which is a deep dark forest green.

My AA Hunter Base

I loved how it was easy to get the glitters out I didn't have to dig around for the white glitters and I like the outcome. This was 2 coats of AA and 1 coat of Urban Camo. It made me what to play a video game... or not but I liked it. Now super bass I paired it Essie's Pink-a-boo it was so so.

Pink-a-boo as a base because it reminded me of Nicki's hair

I think my only problem with this polish is I had to dig and I mean dig for these glitters the only glitters I was getting was the little fine glitters and that drove me nuts because i got it for it's larger glitters and there they were sticking to the side of the bottle so this polish for me was a miss. Have you tried Dollish Polishes?

Butter me up this spring

I'm so happy with Butter London's Disco Ball, I don't know if it's because it's partly jelly or because it has purple sparkles that go so well with the hot pink base but it made yard work in the sun soooo much better.

Better shot of the polish inside the bottle

I love all the summer/spring polishes coming out right now I'm dieing for DL sweet dreams and this kinda reminds me of the tone I feel is coming out this summer. Hot pinks and glitter and flakes makes all the girls quake lol those are words from my brother anyways moving on I liked the application for this polish it took 3 coats to get to this but you could also using it for sandwiching and layering. It's a real fun color and to add to the fun and since I'm practicing my stamping which is getting better than the first attempt here's the finished look.

I just really like looking at this polish it's fun and bright. The stamp was so so I was mostly just trying to figure out which polishes stamped well and so far beside so Konad American Apparel polishes rock both as a base and as the stamping polish. I used Stamping plate Red Angel 109 with American Apparel's Hassid (black). I'm falling more and more in love with stamping the only thing that drives me nuts besides the fact that there is sooo many different decals to choose from but the fact I have to wait for my polish to dry before I stamp so during that time I change a million times. So how do you feel about Butter London's Spring/Summer colors? I'd order them but their shipping and handling is crazy so I have to order else where or buy them at my local Ulta... which for the most part is somewhat lacking in the Butter London, Zoya, Essie, and all the other great polishes *sigh* lol what can a girl do... especially a girl who has decided to put herself on a strict budget. Anyone else doing the same?
