Celebrate the Occasion Nail Art Challenge- Armed Forces/Memorial Day

Today's nail art theme is Armed Forces/Memorial day, so I've decided to do a navy camo mani since I have a bunch of family that has served in the navy from my great-grandfather, my grandfather, my dad and my aunt(I also have members that were in the Air Force). I have a lot of respect and thanks for our armed services and I'm truly thankful for everything they've given up for us, so we can have the life we have. So here's my Navy Camo mani.

Today's theme is party on. So I was thinking about graduation, since I know it's coming up for some. So I wanted to celebrate and wish 2014 congratulations!! So today I used my alma mater colors, red, black, and white(yay go Tigers) and did a simple V-french tip with white outlining and red balloons.

We have a lot to celebrate this month, so I've joined a nail art challenge and luckily it's not going to be a challenge; literally speaking this month, because I'm happy to say I have all the post scheduled and ready to go, so I'm proud to say I'm actually going to finish a challenge *does crazy happy dance*. So today is all about Mother's day and here is my mani.

Purple Mani for Lupus

In honor and support of everyone suffering with Lupus today some beautiful members of The Beauty Bloggers of Central Florida are creating purple post for Lupus awareness month.

Lupus is something that millions of people across the world suffer with. What is lupus?

Lupus is a chronic, autoimmune disease that can damage any part of the body (skin, joints, and/or organs inside the body). Chronic means that the signs and symptoms tend to last longer than six weeks and often for many years.
In lupus, something goes wrong with your immune system, which is the part of the body that fights off viruses, bacteria, and germs ("foreign invaders," like the flu). Normally our immune system produces proteins called antibodies that protect the body from these invaders. Autoimmune means your immune system cannot tell the difference between these foreign invaders and your body’s healthy tissues ("auto" means "self") and creates autoantibodies that attack and destroy healthy tissue. These autoantibodies cause inflammation, pain, and damage in various parts of the body.
Lupus is also a disease of flares (the symptoms worsen and you feel ill) and remissions (the symptoms improve and you feel better).*

So today to show my support I've created a purple mani with some white and purple one stroke nail art.

#tbt Layla Cosmetics Softouch Effect

Hi darlings, a couple months ago I picked these Layla Cosmetics up at Ulta when they we're on sale and never got around to swatching them and all I can say is jokes on me. These dry to a matte finish that are lovely and add a little top coat and I'm seriously blown away. I picked up 04, 05 and 10. The formula with these were amazing I could have easily gotten away with 1 coat but I stuck with 2 because of habit and for the top coat I used Sally Hansen's Mega Shine Top Coat.

I'm so happy with this day!! Granted it took me several tries on my ring finger but when I got it, I'm happy to say I got it.

Okay so I think I'm getting the hang of the flower watermarbling look. Today I used a smaller dish which helped a lot. Here's what my end result looked like...

Opi Watermarbling... Attempt #1

Hey dolls, Happy Cinco De Mayo!! today I decided to try something new... well I decided to try something that I hate doing because I'm horrible at and have decided I'm going to do it everyday till I'm good at it and and don't hate it anymore because I actually know what I'm doing, like cooking. So what am I talking about? WATERMARBLING!! I suck at it, so lets get right into it, here is my day #1.

I used Opi's My Paprika Is Hotter Than Yours!, Fly, and Need Sunglasses. I find using opi is wonderful for watermarbling, but than again I've also learned that when it comes to watermarbling things can be hit or miss and so far Opi has been giving me hits... if only I could get it on my nail.
