Zoya's Fall 2014 Ultra Pixiedust Review

Press Samples

Hey darlings, today I have the Zoya Ultra Fall 2014 Pixiedust polishes to share with you today!

This collection comes in 3 berry toned, textured polishes. They are what I would call a mix of the first pixiedust and the magical pixiedust polishes.

Let's start with Oswin.
Oswin is described as a true red textured Pixiedust with crimson Mega Hex particles. Oswin for me was the most textured of the bunch, making it more like the older pixiedusts.

For me also I thought Oswin dried a bit ashy looking, but Oswin won me over after I put a top coat over it.

Next we have Noir.
Noir is described as a deep, vampy plum textured pixiedust with red Mega Hex particles. This is a pretty plum that reminds me of the magical pixiedusts with it's jelly type texture. I used 3 coats and waited 5 minutes between each coat.

Now this is a true beauty with a top coat.
And now our last Ultra Pixiedust, Arianna.
Arianna is described as a blue-tone red wine textured pixiedust with mega hex particles. This is another mix of old pixiedust and magical pixiedust. This is a gorgeous wine color, but again it didn't dry like Oswin did, but it still is pretty.
After I applied a top coat I was very happy.
So my final thoughts are these are nice, but as a collection I feel they are too close in color, in my eye's I saw 2 reds and a purple. These are very festive, they did make me think of Thanksgiving and Christmas. The formula, I was very happy with Oswin, I'm a sucker for the old school pixiedust. and the first Magical Pixiedust have my heart, Cosmo makes my heart sing. I did love them all after I put a top coat on them and I would recommend getting 2 I don't see the point of getting all of them, like I said 2 reds and a purple, my husband asked, "Didn't you just show me that color?" when I was asking what he thought.

So what are your thoughts on this collection? Let me know.

  1. Pretty swatches! I think Oswin looks so nice on you.

  2. Very pretty...I hate to say it, but I think I prefer these with top coat!

I just don't know if I like the "matteness" of these..they look really pretty with top coat but then you lose the texture =/

  4. So true, there's like a jelly matte thin going on

  5. They are really really, but yes all very similar. Your nails look great though! xo

  6. I think I would purchase them because I do my gel mani's myself and thicker polishes seem to make them last longer before lifting..... nice review!

  7. I'm not sure I like these as much as the original Pixie Dusts, but I appreciate the honest review, so thank you! I may eventually pick up one, but I'm not in a rush if you know what I mean. :)

  8. I agree they are a little close together but they still look nice. I think I prefer them with top coat! Thanks for showing them both ways!

  9. These are pretty but I am annoyed at how close in colour they are... come on Zoya, there had to be another shade they could have included! Gorgeous swatches, BTW!

  10. I always love a little sparkle in my manicure!

  11. I just can't like these, sorry :(. Wish they didn't add the larger glitter!

  12. I like these, I just wish they all dried down to a super matte finish like Oswin. The Magical Pixies were my favorites, I hope they make more of those. These three do look beautiful on you though! :)

  13. I have been contemplating buying Noir but I don't know if I like them as much. Personally, I would rather have another magical pixie.
