My Beauty Goals & Resolutions: The Beauty Council Edition

With a new year, come new goals and resolutions. This week The Beauty Council are hashing out our goals and resolutions for 2015.

So what are my beauty resolutions and goals?

1. Not to be afraid of different color eye-shadows and lipsticks! I've been trying to dip my toes in this fear of bright colors since last year. You remember my Star Style Hair back in November? That was a huge leap for me and now I'm working on my makeup. I don't want to be afraid to wear those bright new Colourpop shadows or some crazy lippies, so I say bring on the color!

2. Perfect my eye makeup application. My goal for this year is to get my makeup game on fleek(is that what people are saying now a days). I use to be all about the nails but now I find myself more and more interested in makeup and as we all know for some(like me) when I try to apply my eye shadow like some of the beauties on Instagram it doesn't look anything like what they did, it looks more like a toddler getting into their mothers makeup. So this year I'm going to nail down the winged eyeliner, the bold crease and have that smokey eye that makes you sigh!

3. Stop hating myself for not keeping my hair all natural! I was natural for 4 years before I went back to relaxers in November. Don't get me wrong I love natural hair, I think it's gorgeous but it's also a personal thing. I also don't have a curl pattern, I have hair that does what it wants, when and where it wants. So for me relaxers are just easier for me to manage and work with. So if I can remember that I should be fine, it just kind of wears on you when people bash you for relaxing you hair like they are the ones who have to manage it and take care of it. It's my hair!

4.Thou shall wash her makeup brushes more! I know, I know, it seems to be everyone's goal but it's true, we really should be washing our makeup brushes a lot more than we are. I don't even want to think of the things I am rubbing into my face when I think, "oh, I'll just wash them tomorrow." A couple tomorrows ago. So to stop that I have a dirties container that just sits there full of brushes that need to be cleaned like yesterday.

5. Add coconut into my skin care routine. I've heard that coconut oil is amazing for the skin, thanks to all the recommendations from Honeygirl's World , if I could have skin like her's sign me up and pass the coconut!

So those are my beauty resolutions for this year. I hope to strongly enforce them this year so you'll most likely see a lot of pops of colors and hopeful more eye looks, more confidence and a lot of hair, cleaner brushes and hopefully amazing skin(fingers crossed).

So what are your beauty resolutions and/goals?

  4. I LOVVVEEEE this list. I also wear relaxers for the exact same reason, my curl pattern is weird and doesnt sit well, like EVER. So I am a 100000000 time relaxer user and proud of it. Technically I look at like this, you are wearing you hair natural- you just needed a little assistance. It is the same as when people us other things in their hair. You rock out girl and be you. I cant wait to see more of youe eye shadow looks. xxo

  8. I don't use a lot of make-up, but I would love to get my hands on some new color pallets for eye shadows and possibly some bolder, brighter lipsticks! And you should give coconut oil a try, it's really nice!
