Opi's 50 Shades of Grey Review and Swatches

Happy Friday darlings! Today is about OPI Nail Polish 50 Shades of Grey Collection. Love it or hate it 50 Shades of Grey has taken over the mainstream. And with the movie coming out Valentines, it's going to be the talk of the town for a while.

Opi has come out with six 50 Shades of Grey themed polishes ranging in the obvious different shades of greys, a glitter and a red.

So let's dive in...

First up is Embrace the Gray.

Embrace the Gray is a cool toned grey, that applied nicely in 2 coats. What I found funny about this polish is the name is spelt Gray instead of Grey. So when I dug into it I found that in terms of grammar there really isn't much difference except one is commonly used in the UK and the other is used in the US but when it comes to color they are different!  Grey is seen as a hue of silver where gray are the colors in between white and black.

Now we have My Silk Tie .

My Silk Tie is a silver gray. It reminds me of Push in Shove minus the head ache and the full out chrome look.

Now we have Dark Side of the Mood.

 Dark Side of the Mood is a deep bluish grey with a hint of shimmer in it. This is such an beautiful understated gray.

Next we have Shine for Me.

 Shine for me is an opaque glitter full of silver and light blue glitter. This was opaque in 3 thin coats and I applied KBShimmers Clearly on Top quick dry top coat.

Now we have Cement the Deal .

Cement the deal is a lighter shade of Embrace the Gray. At first when you hold the bottles up next to each other they look the same but on the nail you can make of the clear difference.

Last, but certainly not least we have Romantically Involved.

 Romantically Involved is a true red. This red is seriously a knock out beauty, that screams red lipstick, Valentines Day and passion!

Let me start off by saying, I personally enjoyed the books, my guilty little secret, I know a lot of people loved the book and a lot of people hated the book, to each their own. With that said I could be a bit bias because I caught the relationships between the names and the colors and I understand why they picked these colors where people are going there's too much grey in this collection... to where I say it's called 50 Shades of Grey and not 50 Shades of Color.

I enjoyed the collection and I would have enjoyed the collection even if it weren't tied to 50 Shades of Grey because I really like the color grey. I believe grey is a very unappreciated color.  Formula wise I had no problems with these polishes, I did have to put a top coat on Shine for me only because the glitter was a bit gritty but not like a textured polish.
